Chaturman's early life was marred by tragedy when he accidentally fell into a kitchen fire, leaving him with severe burns on both arms. His laborer parents, sold their possessions and properties to seek help at a local hospital, but the deformity persisted and worsened. With seven mouths to feed, their financial struggles prevented them from exploring alternative treatments, and Chaturman suffered in silence for months.



Fortunately, Chaturman was screened through one of HRDC’s community- based mobile clinic (mobile clinic team-including a doctor, nurse, physiotherapist, prosthetic and orthotic technician, psychosocial counselor, and various other paramedics). Under the skilled hands of our plastic surgeons, he underwent multiple procedures to release the burn contractures.  Months of intensive physiotherapy followed.

The transformation was nothing short of miraculous. Today, Chaturman and his family radiate happiness and confidence. His once limited functionality has blossomed, allowing him to attend school, make   friends, and dream of a future in politics.
